Upper Hill Medical Centre, one of the largest medical facilities in Eastern Africa, serves over 2,000 patients daily across 40 specialized clinics. With its high energy demands from medical equipment, climate control, and lighting systems, the facility faced escalating electricity costs. To mitigate these expenses and reduce dependency on grid power from KPLC, the medical centre sought a sustainable energy solution.
The Mtama Residential Villa was experiencing high electricity bills and sought a more sustainable and cost-effective energy solution. The client wanted to reduce their dependence on the national power grid and cut down on electricity costs. They were also looking for an optional energy storage system to ensure power availability during the night and in the event of power cuts.

In today's world, access to reliable electricity is crucial for the advancement of education and vocational training. However, many institutions, especially in remote areas, face significant challenges in securing consistent power supply. One such institution, the Rafiki Wa Maendeleo Trust in Rarieda, Kisumu, confronted this exact problem. Davis & Shirtliff, a renowned leader in water and energy solutions, provided an innovative solution to address this issue through the implementation of a solar PV system.

The Tamarind hotel faced the challenge of relying heavily on grid electricity, which not only contributed to rising energy costs but also increased their carbon emissions. To tackle this issue, the client expressed the need for a solar PV system that could generate clean energy during daylight hours, reducing their reliance on grid power. In an era where environmental sustainability has become a top priority, businesses are increasingly turning to renewable energy sources to reduce their carbon footprint and operational costs. One such initiative was undertaken by Tamarind hotel client who sought to integrate a solar PV system into their facility.

Solar pumping is now a proven technology not just for domestic applications but also for large scale industrial systems. Solar pumping systems typically comprises of Solar Panels, an Inverter and Pump. H.E Mutahi Kahiga, governor of Nyeri county has recently commissioned a Solar pumping project that involved retrofitting boreholes with Solar PV systems in Kabati, Nyeri.
