Nakuru Hills Special School is a school for the mentally and physically challenged with a student population of 202, 111 boys and 91 girls aged between 6 and 25 years. The school's mission is to provide a caring and purposeful environment for conducive learning and offer equal opportunities for all regardless of their disability.

Matuu Vision Centre is a charitable children’s institution located in Yatta, Machakos County, about a kilometre from Matuu town along Thika – Garissa highway, a semi-arid area. In the centre’s care are 347 orphans and vulnerable children, 191 boys and 156 girls. In addition, 49 students have been placed in the home’s vocational unit making a total of 396 needy children and young adults under its care.
