Shelter Children’s Home located in Ngong, Kajiado County was started by Mrs Muiruri in 1997 and cares for orphaned and abandoned children between the ages of 3 and 17 years. Currently the home cares for about 100 children. Through well-wishers a borehole was drilled and following a request

for partnership with D&S a solar powered borehole pump was installed. The home seeks to get involved in agricultural activities to be self-sustaining on their food requirements and the pump has helped kick-start this process.
