Lopur Primary is a public school located 21km north of Kakuma town. For years, the school has supplied the community with water from a shallow well that is now silted up. In the absence of this well,

villagers and pupils have been forced to trek long distances to yet another shallow well to fetch water.

Davis and Shirtliff Lodwar, through the CSR programme, have installed a solar-powered borehole pump in the school. The borehole was drilled by the county government of Lodwar but had remained un-equipped for an extended period of time.

The borehole pump now supplies water to over 900 households in Lopur Center and will offer great relief to the 606 pupils of Lopur Primary, once the schools re-open. As the world is facing uncertain and unprecedented times, Davis and Shirtliff forges on with unwavering determination to improve people’s lives.
