This will increase the risk for vulnerable populations who rely on electric-dependent medical equipment that need a reliable back up power supply. At Butoolo Health Care Centre III in Mpigi District, Uganda, this reality has been met with a renewed source of hope.

Recognizing the need for a sustainable solution, Davis & Shirtliff, under the leadership of Uganda Field Service Department Manager Edwin Erima, partnered with Rotary Club of Kampala Metropolitan and transformed the centre by donating a Dayliff DLIP 2.6 kWh 100 AH/24 VDC batteries and an Ultraverter.

With the new backup power system, darkness no longer has to mean an interruption to hope. The neonatal unit can continue operating essential equipment during power outages, helping protect the continuity of care for vulnerable newborns.
