Gachoire Girls High School recently underwent a transformative change as Davis & Shirtliff's Improving Lives Initiative successfully implemented the solarization of the school's 7.5kW borehole. This endeavor was in response to the school's appeal to mitigate the financial strain caused by exorbitant monthly power bills.

Having relied on a seasonal river for their water supply, the school drilled and equipped a borehole, however the running costs of over KES 250,000 monthly caused significant financial strain. This financial respite is now being redirected towards expanding facilities, aiding needy students, and supporting community outreach. Gachoire Girls High School expressed gratitude for the impactful collaboration with Davis & Shirtliff, emphasizing the project's multifaceted benefits—enhancing operational efficiency, improving student welfare, and fostering sustainable agricultural practices through irrigation.
