#ImprovingLives

Giving back to local communities has been a commitment of Davis & Shirtliff since its founding in 1946...

George Khaniri Secondary School, Kaptis special school, Kaptis Primary School, and the Shaviringa community have recently benefitted from a project to install a Dayliff Sunflo Solar pumping system in a local well.

The three schools and local community are not connected to the municipal supply and have, for an extended amount of time, been dependent on the well even without a good pump installed. Upon hearing of the D&S #ImprovingLives Initiative, the principal to George Khaniri Secondary approached the Westlands Branch with an application for D&S intervention. The well, located in Kaptis Primary School, was equipped with a Dayliff Sunflo - B 500C solar pumping system, a high strength, long-lasting steel tank tower, a PV module support structure, and a 3000-liter storage tank. Present at the commissioning ceremony, was Dr. Patrick Saisi, Vihiga County Deputy Governor, the area chief, the school PTA, parents, teachers, school board, and staff members from D&S Westlands and D&S Eldoret.
