The Davis & Shirtliff Group is the leading supplier of water and energy solutions in the region. The Group is Kenyan based and operates through a network of Kenyan branches as well as regional subsidiaries in Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Rwanda, South Sudan and DRC. The company has a total complement of over 800 highly trained and professional staff spread across the region. We seek to fill the role of Systems Quality Assurance Officer in the Digital Division team.

The principal job tasks being as follows:

  • Monitor and ensure that all systems development initiatives follow the approved software development lifecycle and internal governance processes.
  • Coordinate and document various testing stages including functional testing, integration testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Track system health and ensure performance indicators meet defined SLAs, including timely helpdesk ticket turnaround.
  • Review and verify resolution of incidents related to software development, enhancements, and deployments.
  • Maintain clear documentation for test cases, test results, defects, and release notes.
  • Conduct routine system audits to check stability, reliability, and adherence to standards.
  • Support the development team in identifying gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities in processes.
  • Participate in change management activities including communication, training support, and post-deployment monitoring.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate requirements, ensure clarity, and support quality delivery.
  • Escalate recurring issues and propose preventative measures to reduce system downtime and user disruptions.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Holder of an Upper 2nd class degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • At least 1-2 years’ experience in software testing, systems quality assurance or IT support.
  • Knowledge of QA methodologies, test planning, defect tracking and documentation.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar platforms is an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of SDLC and change management procedures.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, process-oriented mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
