D&S has a long history of supporting swimming competitions in the region having initially hosted the Sprints and Relays series of events and galas in the 1990s. This tradition was recently revived by Pools Division Manager Stephen Muhia who took the initiative of sponsoring the PIPPSA (Private & International Prep Schools Sports Association) Inter County event at Makini School.

The well supported event was a clear demonstration of how popular the sport of swimming continues to be in Kenya and brought to mind past D&S brand ambassador Jason Dunford, the famous Kenyan swimmer who achieved Commonwealth Games glory and was even the Olympic record holder in his event. In the historical context, the association with pool construction goes back further, to the 1950s, when Founder Eddie Davis was one of the foremost swimming pool contractors in the country and completed many of Kenya's original pools, the practice continuing into the 1990's when focus shifted to the manufacture and supply of swimming pool related equipment and accessories.
