A 10-acre drip irrigation system has been successfully installed for commercial onion farming in Oloitokitok, featuring 20 irrigation zones and three drip lines per planting bed to provide precise and efficient water delivery for optimum crop performance.

As pressure on water resources grows and demand for increased agricultural productivity rises, efficient irrigation is becoming increasingly important to sustainable and climate resilient farming. Drip irrigation enables water to be delivered directly to the crop, reducing wastage while supporting consistent yields and more productive use of available land and water resources.

The project demonstrates D&S’s established expertise in providing efficient and sustainable irrigation solutions that help farmers conserve water, improve productivity and contribute to greater food security.
