#ImprovingLives

Giving back to local communities has been a commitment of Davis & Shirtliff since its founding in 1946...

For years a solar powered borehole pump located at Namoroputh Primary School in Lodwar, Turkana County served as the sole source of clean water to the school and neighbouring community within a radius of 5km. the school, with a student population of over 500 is the biggest in Loima Constituency.

An estimated 2,000 households equally benefit from this borehole. The pump broke down at the beginning of 2018 and for most of the year the school and local community suffered immensely with students forced to fetch water of very poor quality from a well located a kilometre from the school. D&S Lodwar supplied and installed a replacement pump and restored water supply, touching the lives of thousands in the process. The handover ceremony was graced by the area MCA Hon. Jackson Lowoi and a representative from the Ministry of Water in the County Government of Turkana.
