Gatanga, in Murang’a County, is one of Kenya’s more picturesque locations. It is home to the Ndakaine Dam, which supplies water to most of Nairobi, and also home to the organization that conserves the dam, Ndakaine Dam Conservation Association (NDEKA).

Davis and Shirtliff’s #ImprovingLives Inititiative recently partnered with NDEKA to help prevent the spread of COVID 19 in 10 schools within the county. The provision of hand washing stations will not only increase levels of sanitation in these schools, but also raise awareness, as most of rural Kenya still views the pandemic as a distant city problem. During the handing over ceremonies, the various Head teachers expressed their gratitude and appreciation for D&S’s commitment to the community.
