The morning sun rises early over the vast plains of Mosiro in Kajiado West. For generations, the Maasai families who call this place home have learned to live with drought, long walks for water, and the quiet acceptance that the water available to them was never truly safe.

Water was life but it was also a silent threat. Every day, mothers filled jerrycans from boreholes and seasonal rivers, their only option for water. Children drank water with high fluoride levels, leading to stained teeth, brittle bones, and joint pain.

At Naning'oi Girls Boarding Primary School and Naning'oi Secondary School, nearly 600 learners depended on the same borehole water. The schools had become places of hope protecting girls from harmful cultural practices and opening doors to education but even here, something as basic as a glass of safe drinking water remained out of reach. Then, something remarkable happened.

A shared vision united Ewangan Child Development Programme, ChildFund, DuPont, and Davis & Shirtliff, under the leadership of Limuru Branch Manager, Hosea Karanja leading to the creation of the Maji Safi Naning'oi Project. This initiative established a modern water purification plant in Mosiro, using using a Dayliff 4 m³/hr Batteryless Solar Ultrafiltration (UF) Unit and a Dayliff 2.5 m³/hr Batteryless Solar Reverse Osmosis (RO) Unit to eliminate harmful fluoride. The project embodies the joyful laughter of children filling their bottles without fear and teachers witnessing healthier, more focused students.

Beside the purification plant, another symbol of transformation has emerged—a modern bottling facility producing Naning'oi – Drops of Life. The project has also introduced an automated water dispensing station, allowing families to access affordable treated water conveniently and with dignity.
