Nakuru Hills Special School is a school for the mentally and physically challenged with a student population of 202, 111 boys and 91 girls aged between 6 and 25 years. The school's mission is to provide a caring and purposeful environment for conducive learning and offer equal opportunities for
all regardless of their disability. Through the head teacher Lucy Kahito the school made a request to D&S Nakuru for support in lighting up the common areas as it was a challenge for most students to find their way around the institution at night. 5 maintenance-free solar street lights were installed and now the institution is well lit and much more secure.
